Events at Soif

Located only 3 minutes from downtown Ottawa, and in the heart of Old Hull, Soif is the ideal spot for convivial and memorable events. Our chef Erik Brooman’s menu of small plates is inspired by what’s available locally and seasonally. The food is purposely simple: great ingredients and simple preparations, to let flavours shine through and be very wine-friendly.

4 à 7 Cocktail Party

For a casual get together… after work or before dinner…

Our bars are the perfect gathering space for groups of 8-30 people. Available from 4pm until 7pm without a minimum spend or deposit.

Individual bills are possible. In order to offer you the best service, wine trios and oysters are not available for the 4 à 7 experience.

We reserve the right move you to a smaller area/table if you are fewer than confirmed.

    What we do best! A discovery menu of many small plates designed to be shared.

    The menu will be a surprise. Allergies must be confirmed 1 week prior. Wine pairings are also available (add 40-50$).

  • The Traditional Approach

    3 COURSES 50$ / 4 COURSES 65$

    You’re on familiar ground with individually plated courses in a table d’hôte style. With this option, your guests will need to pre-select their meals. Selections cannot be made at the table.

    Menu selection and allergies must be confirmed 1 week prior. Wine pairings are also available (add 40-50$).

  • The Hybrid Approach

    4 COURSES 65$

    The first two courses are a variety of sharing plates. The main course and dessert are the same for all guests and will be individually plated.

Guided Tastings

  • 3 wines with 3 canapés : 35$ / pers

  • 4 wines with 4 canapés : 47$ / pers

  • 5 wines with 5 canapés : 59$ / pers

Soif is all about exploring, discovering and sharing wine! Entertaining and enlightening, a wine tasting guided by one of our sommeliers will bring you and your guests into the heart of what we do.

Guided tastings work best when structured around a theme. We have plenty of suggestions to ensure your experience is tailored to your interests and tastes.

We suggest allocating 1 hour for a tasting of 3 wines and 2 hours for 5 or more wines. Packages start at $35 per person plus $100/hr for the sommelier.

Our Spaces

  • Semi-private Room

    Our beautiful map-lined space is separated from the rest of Soif by a curtain.

    We have a video screen but you will need to bring your own projector. The use of a projector and screen reduces the room’s capacity.

    A minimum food and beverage spend is required for this space.

    The semi-private room can seat up to 24 guests on 2 long tables. With a projector and screen the capacity is reduced to 20 guests.

    Seating boardroom style allows a maximum of 16 guests.

  • The Bars

    THE party spot, perfect for gathering with friends and coworkers. The design of our bars allows for easy mingling and chatting. Seating is on champagne-stopper-shaped stools.

    The U-shaped bar can accommodate 12-15 guests.

    At the bar in front of the cellar, 8 to 10 of you sit face to face.

    Both bars together can accommodate 25 seated or 30 standing.

  • Dining Room

    This space offers a mix of high tops with stools, and regular tables.

    Open to the rest of the wine bar while still being apart.

    A minimum food and beverage spend is required for this space.

    Maximum seating capacity for this space is 40 to 44 guests seated at a mix of regular tables and bars with stools.

    Maximum capacity standing is 60 guests.

Good to know

We do not have a room charge but do have a food and beverage minimum. The cost varies depending on the space, the day of the week and the season. If the final bill (before taxes, service, and sommelier fees) is less than the minimum rate, additional room rental fees will be added to cover the difference.

All events require a deposit of 15%. All pricing is before 20% service charge and taxes.

Final head count is due 2 days before your event. Billing will be based on the confirmed number of guests.
